Well Justin went up on Friday morning to NYC for work and later that day surprised me with a ticket to NYC the very next day. It was a really great trip. I saw all of NYC in 2 days. Sunday Justin and I got to check out Washington Arch, Skinny Building ( the one you see in all the commercials I don’t know what it was called), the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Plaza, Music City, Times Square, Central Park, the Museum of Natural History, China Town ( had the best Soup Dumplings Ever), Little Italy and at the major streets you know of. Then I was by myself on Monday. I went down to the Today Show. I saw myself of the screen, but my parents said they didn’t see me. Hmmmmm! Then I went to Central Park, Times Square, then took the subway to Ground Zero, saw Ground Zero, saw the Statue of Liberty, then went to Wall Street, had pizza, then went back to the Maritime Hotel (our hotel), went to Chelsea Market and had mint chocolate chip gelato at L’Arte del Gelato. It was so good. Then I went back to the hotel took a nap and later that night Justin took me to the nicest restaurant ever. It only had 10 seats and was totally secluded. I loved it I had lamb which was amazing. Then on Tuesday morning I went home. Justin was suppose to be have come home Wednesday night, but his flight was canceled so he came home this morning. If you wanna see pics and video here is a link.
So this past weekend was quite exciting. We drove up to Ohio after I finished work on Friday and spent the weekend there. On Saturday we went in service and then later that day we went to the OSU vs. USC game. We tailgated outside. It was a lot of fun. We were with a group who had bought an old short bus and painted is silver. They named it the Silver Bullet it is really cool. Even though OSU lost we still had an awesome time. Then we drove back to TN on Sunday. I just finished working one of the hardest 10 hour shifts. I am really tired and looking forward to a good nights sleep. Tomorrow I am doing early morning witnessing and hopefully staying out till two if I can make it that long. Then I start my study with a young spanish girl that night. I am really excited for this next weekend. We are going to Kentucky for unassigned territory. We are leaving Friday morning and coming back Sunday. THEN the very best thing is happening my mom is coming to see me. I cant wait. See you soon Mom I love you. Well that’s all folks!!
Well it has been quite some time since our last post. It seems to be getting harder and harder to find time to post something. Life has been really busy for Justin and I. Recently we put wood flooring throughout the house, had Justin’s mom and Kay come to visit, Justin played in a golf tournament, and I went to Splash Country. All in all we have been having a really nice summer. September is going to be a really busy month. We are going to work unassigned territory in Harlen, Kentucky, my mom is coming to visit us :), Jared is coming to visit, and we have plans to hang out with friends the rest of the time. This Saturday is going to be crazy. We have service, a congregation get together, an Ohio State Pre-Season party, and we are hanging out with some friends from the hall later on that night. That’s what happens when you let Justin plan our day. LOL I am really excited about next month because not only is my mom coming but fall is coming too. MMMMmmm the smell of fresh pumpkin pie, maple bacon turkey, fall leaves, crisp air, and apple crisp. I can’t wait to get my fall mums this year it is the only plant I can seem to keep alive. Well that’s it for now.
I don’t even know where to start its been so long. Things are going really good here, we’re still doing Spanish and have no plans of going back to English. Our congregation is awesome and we’re making solid progress. In fact last night at the meeting, Steph gave her first talk and I actually had the final part on the program. It makes you feel good when the brothers and sisters come up excited and encouraged by what we’re doing and vice-versa. We’ve been doing a lot of things with ones from our hall so be sure to check our flickr out for the latest. We’re also going to the International Convention in Hawaii for 10 days in November which were so ecstatic about. It should be such an amazing experience which I know will even motivate us even more. This past weekend we went on Sunday to the English District Convention and it was everything we heard, especially the drama. Also Steph is going to be visiting her family in Florida next month for like 4 days so that’ll be nice too.
This weekend was nice. On Friday night we went out on the river with our friends Joel and Justine. Then we went to eat at Lakeside Tavern. On Saturday after work we went fishing with Jared, Casey and Baby Taylor. Then we went to eat at a Mexican restaurant. Today we went for a run around our neighborhood. It was really, really hot. Then we went to our meeting. After that we made sushi and had the Zavala boys over. We took some family photos too. Tomorrow I have a long day ahead of me 12 hours of work.
Today Steph and I adopted a little girl Boston Terrier. I got a call from Steph while I was at work about some kids who had been given a Boston today by a person who couldn’t keep it and the kids parents wouldn’t let them have it either, (it’s siblings had already been put down). Steph wanted to adopt it really bad. After work I went over to check it out while 10 kids were there trying to make me a believer too (I felt like I was at a used car dealership) After saying I’d think about it, about 2 minutes down the road I told Steph that if she really wanted the pup then I’d be ok with that. We’ll I’m sitting here tonight as Buster and his little sister Dulce (sweet in spanish) are laying next to each other asleep. It’ll take some work, this is my first experience with a puppy so there could be some challenges but I’m sure it’ll all be worth it and it’ll be cool having a little addition to the family.
So on Thursday Buster went into where I work to get surgery done on his back left knee. It was to fix his luxating patella. It went really well. I was able to watch the whole surgery. It was very interesting to actually see his knee and see the problem. It makes you feel so much more confident it what was done. While Buster was in the recovery are I was able to stay with him. I can not believe this but I sat there for 3 hours with him after his surgery. He came home and slept the night away. Today I took him to work with me thinking there might be something wrong because he will not try to even walk. The second I had him in the office he walked around just fine, even putting preasure on his leg that go surgery on it. So he is recouperating fine and being babied.
On another note last week we spent the week with my family in Florida. It was really nice. We spent most of the time chilling with them and relaxing. We took Max back down to my dad to live with him and my mom. We were going to do it for a temporary time, but my dad asked if he could have him back so we agreed. It is a little lonely in the house with out Maxtard. It is nice though because he will not be stepping on Buster while he is recovering. We did have a chance to go to South Beach, Miami and spend a day. It was amazing. The weather was perfect. Then on another day my mom and I got to spend a day at Epcot together. I love spending time with her there. It is one of our traditions to go, relax and enjoy Epcot together once a year.I can not wait to see them again.
For now I am babying Buster and living one day at a time……. <wow that sounded deep >
