A Night to Remember….

So this might make you think “Oh they went somewhere romantic” or ” Boy this sounds like the theme of my Prom.” Nope that is not what this is about at all. What is there to say about last night. This is a story we will be telling our grandchildren about and laughing. So Justin and I decide to go to the Kingdom Hall to get a few things done. So we arrive there around 8:30 and stay until 10:00. We were just throwing out the last of the trash. As Justin says ” One of us needs to open the trash can so the other can throw away the trash.” I think “Ok that sounds right.” Well when we come back to go inside we come to find out that the doors locked behind us. We have these doors at the Kingdom Hall that one side you lock behind you when you go in and the other you can push to open when you leave, but we forgot that that one locks behind you. Now we are standing outside in 20 degree weather and we can see our keys to the car, Kingdom Hall, and our phones inside. A wave of “I cant believe this just happened to us” crossed our faces. So what can we do, we have no money, no car, no keys, nothing. So we start to walk home. Remind you that it is 20 degrees, after 10 o’clock at night, I am wearing my Coach boots, jeans and a ski jacket, Justin is wearing jogging pants, sweatshirt, and running shoes (someone was prepared and someone wasn’t LOL) and home is 8 miles away. So was we are running home we think is there anyone close by with a key. The closest couple is older and probably already in bed. So we had to run 8 miles all the way home. And remember this is Tennessee there are no flat places here. So we are running up and down hills. I so have a new appreciation for cars. Finally we made it home at 11 o’clock ( I know I can’t believe we ran that fast either). Got the other car and my other Kingdom Hall key, drove back and unlocked the hall. Today Justin and I both have sore calves, but other then that we are fine. So what did this teach Justin: Never put your keys anywhere else but your pocket. And what did it teach me: Never wear your Coach boots when you go with Justin in case he leaves his keys somewhere and you have to run 8 miles to get home. LOL

Service at the Flea Market

Our congregation has a table setup at a flea market here. This was Steph and I’s first time doing it. We had a nice time despite the 20 degree temps this morning (The Atole did help warm me up though!). We started off a little apprehensive but ended up with some great exeriences at the end of the day. We’re going back with some of the brothers tomorrow if it isn’t raining to much.

Justin and I finally found a spot where we could upload a couple pictures from our trip so far. We put up all of our convention pictures as well as pictures from our fishing trip today. We have been having a lot of fun as well as being spiritually up built while here. The International Convention made us realize how wonderful the brotherhood really is as well as how loving it is. We had to ship boxes home today from here of gifts from our brs and srs we received at the convention. We had the privilege of also having Br. Lett from the Governing Body be a speaker at our convention. Now we feel like our goals in life have really been enlivened in us. We are determined to make Jehovah proud and try to do the most in his service that we can. The experiences we have heard from not only the missionaries but also our brothers and sisters we met have really impressed us. We were so excited when we met other Japanese witnesses who were learning Spanish. It turned out that that was the only way in which we could communicate with them. We have enjoyed this so much and have lots more to tell, but can not at this time. Yesterday we went and saw the volcanoes and black sand beaches on The Big Island. Today we went fishing. Justin almost caught a really big fish but it broke his line. I got to reel in a Tuna that was 15 pounds. It was fun and really hard. Tomorrow is our last day here so we are renting a car and driving it around the Island. Then we fly out around 9pm. Miss home a lot and can not wait to see my baby dogs.

NYC Trip

Well Justin went up on Friday morning to NYC for work and later that day surprised me with a ticket to NYC the very next day. It was a really great trip. I saw all of NYC in 2 days. Sunday Justin and I got to check out Washington Arch, Skinny Building ( the one you see in all the commercials I don’t know what it was called), the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Plaza, Music City, Times Square, Central Park, the Museum of Natural History, China Town ( had the best Soup Dumplings Ever), Little Italy and at the major streets you know of. Then I was by myself on Monday. I went down to the Today Show. I saw myself of the screen, but my parents said they didn’t see me. Hmmmmm! Then I went to Central Park, Times Square, then took the subway to Ground Zero, saw Ground Zero, saw the Statue of Liberty, then went to Wall Street, had pizza, then went back to the Maritime Hotel (our hotel), went to Chelsea Market and had mint chocolate chip gelato at L’Arte del Gelato. It was so good. Then I went back to the hotel took a nap and later that night Justin took me to the nicest restaurant ever. It only had 10 seats and was totally secluded. I loved it I had lamb which was amazing. Then on Tuesday morning I went home. Justin was suppose to be have come home Wednesday night, but his flight was canceled so he came home this morning. Monthly Posting

So this past weekend was quite exciting. We drove up to Ohio after I finished work on Friday and spent the weekend there. On Saturday we went in service and then later that day we went to the OSU vs. USC game. We tailgated outside. It was a lot of fun. We were with a group who had bought an old short bus and painted is silver. They named it the Silver Bullet it is really cool. Even though OSU lost we still had an awesome time. Then we drove back to TN on Sunday. I just finished working one of the hardest 10 hour shifts. I am really tired and looking forward to a good nights sleep. Tomorrow I am doing early morning witnessing and hopefully staying out till two if I can make it that long. Then I start my study with a young spanish girl that night. I am really excited for this next weekend. We are going to Kentucky for unassigned territory. We are leaving Friday morning and coming back Sunday. THEN the very best thing is happening my mom is coming to see me. I cant wait. See you soon Mom I love you. Well that’s all folks!!

WOW Long Time!!!!!!!

Well it has been quite some time since our last post. It seems to be getting harder and harder to find time to post something. Life has been really busy for Justin and I. Recently we put wood flooring throughout the house, had Justin’s mom and Kay come to visit, Justin played in a golf tournament, and I went to Splash Country. All in all we have been having a really nice summer. September is going to be a really busy month. We are going to work unassigned territory in Harlen, Kentucky, my mom is coming to visit us :), Jared is coming to visit, and we have plans to hang out with friends the rest of the time. This Saturday is going to be crazy. We have service, a congregation get together, an Ohio State Pre-Season party, and we are hanging out with some friends from the hall later on that night. That’s what happens when you let Justin plan our day. LOL I am really excited about next month because not only is my mom coming but fall is coming too. MMMMmmm the smell of fresh pumpkin pie, maple bacon turkey, fall leaves, crisp air, and apple crisp. I can’t wait to get my fall mums this year it is the only plant I can seem to keep alive. Well that’s it for now.
