Bike Ride

This morning was a fun one. Justin and I went on a 11 mile bike ride. It was at the Cades Cove Loop. In the morning, on Wednesday and Saturday, till 10 o’clock a.m bikes are only allowed to get in there. So it’s really quite and really nice to see the animals. We were just seconds away from seeing a bear. Justin was really disappointed it ran back in the woods before we got there. I have done that bike ride twice before and do not remember it being that hard. There were two hills that I thought my legs were going to fall off. LOL We also went to this neat little cabin on the side of the road. It really makes you appreciate what life has become in the way of technology. It would have been rough living in homes like the ones on the side of the road there. We really had a good time. At the end we went to Gatlinburg and had lunch. We ate at this Chinese restaurant that I was really worried it was going to be bad because no one was there. But the food was really, really good. And I can say it’s probably the best I have ever had. Then we went to Kilwin’s and got some ice-cream. After that we went to the Bass Pro Shop. It was really pretty inside. They have a two story waterfall and all kinds of stuffed and fake animals inside. Then we came home to relax. Click here to see pictures!

Lots Going On

Steph and I are so busy but its been a good busy.  This past weekend we had something going on every night.  Friday night we hung out with some couples and had a Watchtower study and then played some video games.  Saturday night we went to another couples house and spent time with them and played some cards which was nice.  Then Sunday I played golf with the guys and then we all went out to eat and followed that up with a Movie.  Thats the shortened edition of the weekend there.  So between service, meetings, study and play those 3 days were gone before we knew it.

Now I’m really looking forward to Mom, Chyllis and Joni coming next week to visit.  This will be mom’s first time  seeing our place so it should be very nice.  This is just the beginnings of a very busy summer for us.

Pandora

So if you haven’t noticed yet, Justin and I have added a link to each of our pandora.com accounts. (It’s on the side bar on the bottom.) This is a cool newer site that allows you to listen to free music. You put in your favorite song or artist and it creates a list of music similar to that. You can either give the song that’s playing a thumbs down if you do not want it played again or a thumbs up when you really like it and want it to be played again later. It’s really neat the music it comes up with for you to listen to. So if you are working on the computer click on that site and you will find some awesome music.

District Convention

This past weekend we had our District Convention in Johnson City TN.  The program was great, the theme was “Follow the Christ.”  We felt really good when we left and we were also able to meet some new brothers and sisters which helps a lot being new to the area.  We also got a new release but I won’t ruin that for you if you haven’t had yours yet.  I think Steph took some pictures so you can probably expect to see those on Flickr sometime soon.

Keepin it Movin

Wow we’ve got two people posting on this blog and its already been 5 days without a post…. shows how busy we are. This past weekend was nice and pretty full. On Friday we went over to Abel and Ashley’s and had dinner and a movie. We had a great time there and we spent more time with them over the weekend but I’ll get to that in a few.

On Sat. after service Steph went to Ashley’s baby shower with the girls; So I’ll let her add to that if she has anything. While she was doing that I went and played golf with the guys. We had a nice time and even though I played poorly it was still nice to get outside and play 18 holes. That was the main event of Saturday as that took us into the late afternoon.

Sunday after working a bit with Abel we all went to a 50th anniversary party for a couple and decided to forgo the Fireflies until Monday. Then that night we went over to Abel and Ashley’s to watch a movie (I’m starting to see a trend here) and relax

Steph had made a post about seeing the fireflies Sunday but we were still able to see them only it was on Monday. Abel, Ashley, Steph and I decided we would do a mid-week trek. We thought being a weekday it wouldn’t be as busy but it was packed. The experience was awesome and even though our pictures didn’t turn out I’ll explain. You would just see a few fireflies lighting up here and there, and then all of a sudden you would see lights for 3-5 seconds non-stop. It was a really cool experience even though we got home at 1:00 in the morning.

Upcoming Events…

So I wanted to write about this cool upcoming thing Justin and I will be doing. What it is, is that every year at the Smoky Mountain National Park fireflies (a.k.a. lightening bugs)  gather. We have heard that it is really neat to go out and see them in the dark. So on Sunday night we are planning to go out and see them. I bet it will be really nice. But as far as tomorrow I am going to a baby shower for a dear friend of mine. She is having a baby girl. I think it will be very nice. I have heard a lot of good things about it. :)  So far thats all we have planned for this weekend. I guess we will see how everything works out.

Max’s First Pool

I know it sounds corny, but I bought our dog Max a kiddie pool today. Since I haven’t had the time to take him to the river much to go swimming and I don’t feel like paying a lot to get him shaved down, I figured bring the water to him. LOL He really enjoyed it a lot. He can’t really swim in it because it low but at least he can stand in it and play around. I posted some pictures of Max.
