3 Day Weekend Gone Already

I can’t believe that the 3 day weekend has come and gone and its almost Wednesday already. Steph and I have been keeping busy as usual but thats how we like it. Friday afternoon Jared got into town so we went downtown after Steph made a tasty rib dinner. We shot some pool and walked around downtown afterwards so we could getup for service Sat.

On Sat we all went to the Mountains and did Alums Bluff which is classified as a “Strenuous Hike” which we found out. It was a lot of fun though and when we upload the photos to flickr we’ll link to them. After that we had dinner at Smoky Mountain Brewery, the wings and local beer there were both very tasty. Sunday after meeting we relaxed a bit after going to the park and then watched a movie.

On Monday Jared and I played with a group of friends in a golf scramble. Then last night we had some of our friends over for a cookout on our fire pit that Steph picked up yesterday. Along with the food we had some solid rounds of Guitar Hero in which I embarrassed myself multiple times. So it was a pretty busy weekend but we all had fun, and last night was a great way to end a nice weekend.

The Long Weekend

The long weekend is upon us and I’m really excited about having my best friend in town. Last I talked to Jared he’s about an Hour-half away from Knoxville. He’s going to spend the weekend and head back Monday. We plan on going to the Mountains, Playing some Golf and whatever else comes up.

On a side note Steph and I continue to really like it here. We had some friends over last weekend which was nice and after the meeting last night we went out with our friends including P-Funk/Fizzle himself. It was truly a special moment for us all. :)

Doovie.net 2.0

You obviously don’t need to read this post to see that doovie.net has had a full on makeover.  Basically now that Steph and I are both posting on here I wanted to build something that we would both find appealing.  Also since we’re not in Florida anymore we wanted to go with more of a mountain theme which I think we’ve accomplished.  Anyway hope you like it.

Bath Day for Max

So today was the first time I gave Max a bath. Earlier this morning I took him to the Tennessee River to play, so he got plenty dirty. I took him to this place called PetSafe. It is a really nice place. (That is where we are going to board him for the District Convention). They have a thing there were if you pay $10.00 you can use their equipment, shampoos, brushes, and towels. It is a really good deal. Because it is all of the professional stuff and it kept Max in place while I washed him. He was really good. He got a little scared of the dryer but he was ok after I petted him a little bit. So now he smells and looks clean.

Max

So we have a new addition to the family. No it’s not a baby. It’s a new dog. My parents brought their dog Max to live with us. He is 8 months old and a very sweet golden retriever. Today I took him to the park with my mom and he had so much fun. Running and playing with his ball. He hasn’t destroyed anything yet which is good. Justin and I are so happy to have a young dog that has already been house broken and at least knows some of his commands. But other than that nothing too exciting has been going on around here.

Life in Knoxville

Life in Knoxville has been good. Steph and I have been keeping very busy between meetings, working on the house, my secular job and the like. This past weekend we went downtown and tried a sushi place that Steph had found online; it was very tasty and it actually inspired us to go shopping for supplies to make our own at home this week. On Sat we went to a couples house who we’ve become friends with here, they had us as well as some of their friends over and we bbq’d. On Sunday we finally got to make it over to the Smokey Mountains which are absolutely breathtaking. We took some photos there and posted them to Flickr so if your set as a friend on there you can see those. The picture below is from the entrance.

Settling In

Steph and I got in Friday morning and closed on our house. We were in by Friday evening and started painting that night actuallly. The house is coming along well with the master bedroom, guest bedroom, office and kitchen being finished. Yesterday we had the Directv setup and tomorrow our furniture should be delivered. When we get our internet connected on Friday we should be all set. I started work yesterday and I really like it. Its a great atmosphere and I’m learning a lot already. We’ve been to Sunday meeting and B-Study last night so we’ve gotten to meet quite a few. There are some nice couples in our congregation so we’re getting to know people fast. Steph planted a garden the other day so hopefully we’ll have some pics of that and of her decorating to post soon.
