Doovie Meets Rednecks + Mud

As Memorial Day weekend approached I wondered exactly what I was going to do. Originally my friend from Phoenix was going to come but that didn’t work out so it was time for plan #2.

Not to bore you since this is a blog…. plan number 2 consisted of me going a few hours inland and north to a friends cabin at a place called River Ranch. Little did I know what I was in for.

When we pull up its in the middle of nowhere and you see Rednecks, Trucks, ATV’s and Confederate Flags everywhere, it was quite breathtaking as I’ve only seen things like this on TV. However I was with friends and 4-wheelers so I was pretty sure things would be fun, it was just going to take some getting used to.

Going back to the cabin takes us about 15 minutes with my friends dad’s 4-wheel drive (if you took a car you would get stuck) and then we reached the cabin which was really nice. On the way back you see “County People”, Swamp buggies (which the country people take as much pride in as their homes) trailers and lots and lots of mud and water.

The rest of the weekend is spent eating good, playing poker and riding and riding some more. It was a total blast and such a good experience. The Country Folk were all so very nice and when you would get your ATV stuck in water and mud they were always there to bail you out. I’m so glad I went and was able to share it with my friends. Its nice to get away from reality for a day or 2 and just kick back and relax on the hamock with no worries. There are so many experiences I could tell you about expecially with the ATV’s but I’ll save them for later.

I’ve attached a link to a picture gallery of my weekend adventure.

Enjoy! http://www.doovie.net/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=1

Weekend Recap

Hmm thinking back to the weekend. Lets see…. Friday I went to a friends house Jared and Josh. We chilled out, relaxed in their hottub and enjoyed a few beers. (Well at least I did) icon_biggrin rnrnSaturday night I went to the movies with some of my friends and their friends which are now my friends. We watched The Interpreter. I thought it was pretty decent but would have rather watched Star Wars which I’ve yet to see.rnrnSunday we had a cong. picnic which was very nice. We played Softball and Basketball which I think i’m still sore from. rnrnThen we come to today. Today was a good day at work busy as usual and I ended up working a little late and then coming home and doing a load of laundry. I’m thinking more about going home to visit as time gets closer and I’m looking forward to seeing my mom and friends again. Well its late as you can see from the time of the post. G-Nite’

Relaxing Weekend

The weekend was good. Friday night I went bowling with some friends and scored a 175. I few strikes in a row bumped up what was an ugly score for a while. Saturday I went out on my friends boat while a few of the guys wake boarded, which I didn’t do but will soon. I saw a couple dolphins… the first I’ve seen since I lived here. Sunday was just a laid back day. I stayed home the entire day and just cleaned and messed around online. There’s the recap, nothing to exciting but it was nice none-the-less.

I got Shot (with a needle)

Thats right you read the the title correctly - I got shot. For over a week now I’ve had this circular area on my leg that hasn’t looked very attractive, I hoped that if I just waited it would go away but that didn’t happen. So today after showing a few people at work we decided i’d better get it checked out. The doctor wasn’t sure what caused it but he seemed a little concerned. I ended up getting a shot in my thigh which is very sore now and I’m on antibiotics too.

I guess I should have had it checked out sooner but honestly who likes going to the doctor. He also said that I couldn’t drink alcohol for 10 days which is a real bummer. Hopefully it will clear up, I’m supposed to go back early next week to see how its doing. Only time will tell.

I’m getting the Internet!

Well I’ve been living in Florida for just over 3 months now without the Internet. When I’ve needed to use the Internet during evening hours I’ve just driven down to Barnes and Noble but obviously that isn’t the most convenient thing to do. I’ve caught a lot of slack for not having the Iternet seeing as how I’m the Webmaster and its pretty much a necessity. So Monday I finally called Bellsouth and ordered DSL which is the only option I have since i’m using satellite. That now means I have a home phone number as well which i’ll probably use 2 or 3 times a year. So yes I’m very excited about getting the Internet at home finally, and I should be able to work from there certain days. icon_razz
